Get Bubbles out of a Vinyl Wrap

There is a simple solution that may help you flatten out the film safely with the help of the air egress technology on the film:

When there is a bubble on the material, use the soft part of your squeegee to cut vertically in the middle of the film. You would then divide it into two sections. Then, cut a second time horizontally to divide it into four sections. (Make it a cross.) Tools like Tint ToolsCar Wrap Tools and ppf squeegee.

By now, you have turned one big bubble into four small ones. Use your thumb to gently push each of them incrementally from the center corner to the outside. Deal with them one by one.

With the help of air egress, the bubbles will disappear eventually. And because you have turned a giant bubble into several small parts, you will not be stressing the material as you do it. So, it is simple and safe.

Of course, this is a general case. There are times that you would see bubbles in strange shapes, which is apparently hard to get rid of. When this happens, you will have to approach them with a particular technique to flatten the material.

Heat up your credit card

Take out your credit card and get it warm, this is best done with a hairdryer. It needs to be hot enough, so you can peel the vinyl wrap easily away from the card, but not so hot that you burn yourself.

Stick your credit card into the bubble with some water

Take your credit card with some water on it and stick it to the bubble firmly-but not too hard.

Hold for 6 seconds

Wait 6 seconds, and slowly peel back. If the bubble doesn’t come off, repeat step 3. If it does come off with no problem, take a damp paper towel and wipe away any excess water/vinyl that may have accumulated during this process.

Bow the wrap

This is a simple method that requires using a heat gun and bow tool to create tension on the vinyl wrap.

Heat it

Heat will cause the air pockets underneath your vinyl wrap to expand, pop and disappear. If you have bubbles on your vehicle from bubbling or peeling vinyl, simply use a heat gun to pop the bubbles.

Use Water

Another method for removing air pockets under your wrap is to wet it down with water before you apply heat to it. Much like the previous tip, this will expand the air pockets until they pop out.

Use A Press

If all else fails, you can use a press to get rid of air bubbles. Use the heat gun again to apply heat underneath the vinyl wrap, and put everything under pressure with a hydraulic press. This will force air pockets out from your car’s paint job and flatten the vinyl wrap.
